Expeditions

On-Land
In the UK there are a large number of wilderness areas which are available for multi-day expeditions. Explore these areas in a way which gives you time to enjoy the scenery from views and at times of the day which are unique to being out there in that wilderness. Learn about environmentally sensitive approaches to campcraft and hill-walking skills and learn to navigate confidently through the wild places and in sometimes low visibility conditions.
There are two approaches to expeditioning on offer. Supported and unsupported.
Unsupported travel is completely independent and whatever the length of trip everyone carries their own kit and a share of the camping kit for the whole journey. These journeys tend to be for those who have done some back-packing previously and appreciate the demands and joys of being totally independent.
Supported expeditions are run in a safari style where the participants main luggage is transported from campsite to campsite over the expedition. It is truly lightweight travel and these journeys use campsites which are less wild than in the unsupported trips.

On Water
Expeditions on water mainly use the open canoe as means of transport. This craft is ideal because it can be used in a range of water conditions and still carry
all the equipment needed for a multi-day expedition.
Trips range from a two day gentle river journey on the River Wye staying at an established campsite along the way, to a multi-day wild country journey in Scotland, completely unsupported.
